📌 1. The Dialogue

Korean Meaning
Amina, how is dormitory life? I want to move to a dormitory too.
Amina, kumusta ang buhay sa dormitoryo? Gusto ko ring lumipat sa dormitoryo.
Why? Don’t you like living in a studio apartment?
Bakit?
I do, but the rent is expensive. But in the dormitory, you have to share a room with someone else, right?
No, in our dormitory, we use the room alone. The kitchen and laundry room are communal.
Hindi. Sa dormitoryo namin, mag-isa ka sa kuwarto. Ang kusina at labahan lang ang pinagsasaluhan.
It’s a bit uncomfortable living in the dormitory, right?
Medyo hindi komportable sa dormitoryo, ano?
It’s not uncomfortable, but there are rules to follow. Many people live together in the dormitory, you know.

💡 Nova’s Tip

‘-잖아요’ reminds someone of something they already know — 여러 사람이 함께 생활하잖아요 (Many people live together, you know). Bonus expression: ○○ 생활이 어때요? (How is life in ○○?)

(Kumusta ang buhay sa ○○?)
