📌 1. What is -잖아요?

-잖아요 is attached to a verb or adjective when you remind the listener of something they already know (or should know) — just like “…, you know!” or “Remember? …” in English.

💡 TIP: Watch your tone with your boss!
-잖아요 sounds natural and friendly with coworkers and friends. But if you say it strongly to your boss, it can sound like “Don’t you know that?!” Say it softly, with a smile. 😊 Also listen to the sound: 있잖아요 sounds [읻짜나요], 많잖아요 sounds [만차나요].
🇵🇭 Natural at magiliw ang -잖아요 sa katrabaho at kaibigan. Pero kung malakas mong sasabihin sa boss mo, puwedeng parang “Hindi mo ba alam?!” Sabihin nang mahinahon at nakangiti. 😊 Tunog: 있잖아요 [읻짜나요], 많잖아요 [만차나요].
Compare: 시끄러워요. (It’s noisy. — just a fact) vs 시끄럽잖아요. (It’s noisy, you know! — reminding the listener)
💡 Remember: “Stem” means removing -다 first! Full explanation in Chapter 4-1.
🇵🇭 Tandaan: tinatanggal muna ang -다 para makuha ang “stem”! Buong paliwanag sa Chapter 4-1.
