🛑 WAIT! Grammar is way easier once you know the words — if you haven’t studied Chapter 14-1 Vocabulary (Location & Direction) yet, go memorize them first! Today we’ll learn (으)로 again, this time for DIRECTION.

🇵🇭 Teka muna! Mas madali ang grammar kapag alam mo na ang mga salita — kung hindi mo pa naaral ang Chapter 14-1 Vocabulary (Location & Direction), i-memorize muna ito! Ngayon, aralin natin ulit ang (으)로, sa pagkakataong ito para sa DIREKSYON.

📌 1. What is (으)로 (Direction)?

When (으)로 combines with a place noun, it shows the direction or destination of an action.
🇵🇭 Kapag ang (으)로 ay pinagsama sa pangngalan ng lugar, ipinapakita nito ang direksyon o destinasyon ng isang kilos.

[Basic pattern]
✅ Noun WITH a Final Consonant (받침 O) 👉 + 으로 (e.g., 오른쪽 → 오른쪽으로)
✅ Noun WITHOUT a Final Consonant, or 받침 ‘ㄹ’ 👉 + 로 (e.g., 아래 → 아래로, 서울 → 서울로)

💡 TIP: Same particle, different job (again!)
Remember (으)로 from Chapter 12-1? There it showed the MEANS (“by bus”). Here, with a place noun, it shows DIRECTION (“towards the right”). One more job for a particle you already know!
🇵🇭 Naaalala mo ba ang (으)로 sa Chapter 12-1? Doon, ipinapakita nito ang PARAAN (“sakay ng bus”). Dito naman, kasama ang pangngalan ng lugar, ipinapakita nito ang DIREKSYON (“papuntang kanan”). Isa pang gamit para sa particle na kilala mo na!
Example: 빗자루로 바닥을 쓸어요. (means) / 자전거로 출퇴근해요. (means)

여기에서 오른쪽으로 가야 해요.	🇺🇸 You have to go right from here. 🇵🇭 Kailangan mong pumunta sa kanan mula dito.
마두 씨는 어디로 갔어요?	🇺🇸 Which way did Madhu go? 🇵🇭 Saan pumunta si Madhu?
이 기차는 서울로 가요.	🇺🇸 This train goes to Seoul. 🇵🇭 Papuntang Seoul ang tren na ito.
칼로 씨는 아래로 갔어요.	🇺🇸 Kalo went downstairs. 🇵🇭 Bumaba si Kalo.

💡 Quick tip: Same batchim rule as always. Two jobs, one particle — context (is it a tool/method, or a place?) tells you which meaning is in play.
